“Before Origin, I was attending school, going through that awkward ‘adolescence’ and at a transitional point in my life where I needed to start making decisions about which direction I wanted to take my life in.

Origin helped me by surrounding me with positive black role models, something I previously lacked not growing-up with my father around. It put me into regular contact with peers with so much in common with myself. Challenged what I thought I knew about the world and its challenges and invited me to be conscious about my history and the possibilities of my future.

Now, I am running my own design business and studio. I graduated from university and am trying to build my own design-based empire slowly and one brick at a time. 2013 will see me travelling to South America to explore a part of the world I’ve never seen and then return in the spring to continue moving forward with my entrepreneurship.”
